The BeerSmith software is perhaps the most well-known and commonly used homebrewing software worldwide. This software acts as a platform to design, calculate, monitor and record every aspect of your homebrew. It is a very powerful tool for a homebrewer to have in his/her repertoire, whether they are just starting out in homebrewing or already have many years of experience under their belt. In addition to the software, Brad Smith, creator and owner of BeerSmith, also runs a very informative newsletter and podcast that include entries on everything from brewing equipment to brewing ingredients.
Last week, our Head here at Hops2Brew, Matthias Siebler, was able to attend one of BeerSmith’s Podcasts to give insight into the German world of hops. Topics that were discussed included the art of hop growing and processing, the differences between the German and US hop markets and future trends in the German hop market.
